Rens Baggen,

Dr. Rens Baggen was born in Geleen in the Netherlands in 1963. He graduated from the Technical University of Eindhoven in 1992 (MSc) with emphasis on antennas and propagation, and started working at the Dutch Aerospace Laboratory (NLR) in Amsterdam (Netherlands) in 1993. There he worked in the fields of avionics and quality management. In 1995 he joined the department of Antennas & EM-Modelling of the IMST (Kamp-Lintfort, Germany) and specialised in antenna theory, simulation methods and tools (FDTD), waveguide antennas, metamaterials (EBG) and measurement techniques, amongst others. His current activities involve management & acquisition of ESA- & EU-projects, overall design of phased array systems from 1 GHz to 60 GHz, and multidisciplinary management. He is author and co-author of over 50 scientific publications.
