SCOPE
The 2017 International Semiconductor Conference (CAS 2017) - former Annual Semiconductor Conference - is the 40th of an annual sequence and is the 27th edition with international participation.
The aim of the conference is two-fold. First, it provides a forum of debate on selected topics of scientific research and technological development. On the other hand, this is an occasion for refreshing a broad perspective of the participants through invited papers and tutorials.
The Conference is underlying the development in micro-and nanotechnologies, still maintaining the "traditional" connection with semiconductor electronics.
TOPICS: Contributions in solid-state devices and (sub)systems are called in the following domains.
- Simulation and fabrication of microstructures and microsystems: surface and bulk micromachining, microengineering techniques, electro-opto-mechanical microsystems, microsensor and actuator integration, signal processing, computational intelligence and system interfacing, biosensors and microsystems for biomedical applications; optical, opto-electronic and photonic functional components, RF MEMS;
- Science and technology of nanostructures and nanostructured materials: composite nanoparticles and nanostructures with selective properties, nanostructures and nanostructured materials with special properties, nanotechnolgies and nanostructures;
- Semiconductor device physics and technology: device modelling and simulation, silicon and compound semiconductor devices, heterostructures, advanced materials and processes,
reliability and defect engineering;
- Design and technology of microelectronic components: microelectronic, microphotonic and microwave integrated subsystems, devices and modules for power control and conversion, specialized electronic circuits integrated in the microelectronic technology, testing and reliability.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Nanoscience and Nanoengineering
- Micro- and nanophotonics and Optoelectronics
- Microwave and Millimeter Wave Circuits and Systems
- Microsensors and Microsystems
- Modelling
-
Semiconductor Devices
- Integrated Circuits
- Physics of Materials
CAS 2017 PROCEEDINGS: The contributed and invited papers will be published in the CAS 2017 Proceedings (an IEEE publication), which will be delivered to the participants at the beginning of the conference. The authors of the accepted papers must sign (for printing the paper in the Proceedings) an IEEE Copyright Form. The papers submitted to CAS must be original and previously unpublished. By the IEEE Copyright form, the authors will transfer the copyright to IEEE.
CAS 2017 PROGRAM program will consist in contributed (structured in oral or poster sessions) and invited (by the organizing committee) papers. The first Plenary Session will be devoted to the “International year of light”.
In oral sessions authors may use PowerPoint presentations. The presentation should not exceed 20 minutes (contributed papers), respectively 30 minutes (invited papers), discussion included. The recommended format for posters is A0. The organizers may deliver on demand the A0 size colour posters, for an aditional. The interested participants should send the electronic file of the poster to the address: [email protected]
The CAS program includes a Student Paper Session. The best paper will be awarded by EDS Chapter. To be eligible, the paper must be based on the student's own work. The author should mention on the registration form their option to be registered in this session.
PAPER TO BE SUBMITTED: Contributed papers will be selected on the basis of a four pages paper, structured according to the IEEE format (4 pages A4, two columns, including a 50 words summary, figures and references). The address for up-loading the papers for CAS 2017 will be announced in April 2017. Any author of an accepted paper to a CAS edition, who will not come to defend it, will no longer be accepted to participate in the following edition of the conference.
INVITED PAPERS: The invited papers (6-10 pages A4, two columns, including a 50 words summary, figures and references) will be printed in the same format given for the contributed papers.
DEADLINES:
GENERAL INFORMATION OFFICIAL LANGUAGE: All written materials and oral presentations should be in English.
LOCATION - CAS 2017: will be held from Wednesday 11th of the Saturday 14th of October in Sinaia – “the Pearl of Carpathian Mountains”. Sinaia is a beautiful mountain resort, located at about 125km (by car or by train) from Bucharest. The town was named after Sinaia Monastery, around which it was built; the monastery in turn is named after the Biblical Mount Sinai. You can visit interesting places: Peles Royal Castle and Pelisor Castle (http://visit.peles.ro/) the Cantacuzino Castle (www.cantacuzinocastle.com/) and the Bran Castle (from the XIV century, recently related to the famous “Dracula“ (www.bran-castle.com/).
REGISTRATION FORM: Participants should register in advance and reserve accommodation, by sending the Registration Form, by mail or by fax, to the CAS Office (Ro, Eng).
The Registration Form will be sent, with the final notification, to all the authors, or on request.
The payment formalities for accommodation will be carried out by the participants on their arrival at Sinaia, Romania, at Rina Sinaia Hotel.
Visa information: European citizen and from countries specified here do not need visa to enter Romania.
If this is not the case, you have to enter the site of the Romanian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and check here.
If you need invitation letter for visa formalities, please send a written request addressed to: [email protected].
CONFERENCE FEE: Conference Fee includes: participation in all sessions, CAS Welcome Cocktail, Gala Dinner and lunches, as well as the CAS 2017 Proceedings. Conference Fee does not include: accommodation.
