MS in Solid State Physics and Ph.D in physics from
the "Al. I. Cuza" University, Iasy, Romania in 1973 and 2002 respectively.
Professional experience:
Optoelectronic devices on silicon and AIIIBV compounds
including: device physics, design/modelling, fabrication, and characterization of the high
speed photodetectors (pin, apd, schottky barriers ), optical sensors optoelectronic and
integrated circuits;
Material and processes for thin films photovoltaics
devices (TCO thin films by chemical vapour deposition using metallorganic compound,
polycristallin thin layers, AR coatings and material characterization);
Components for photonic integrated circuits
(waveguided photodetectors, optical microcavities, membranes) using different materials
and silicon micromachining.
Career :
1996-present: senior researcher, National Institute
for R&D in Microtechnologies (IMT-Bucharest)
1973-1996, researcher , Institute of Research for Electronic Components
(ICCE) - Bucharest also during 1980- 1984 , associated lecturer at
"Politechnica" University, Bucharest, Departement of Physics.
Stages abroad :

Research interests:
Microphotonics and Nanophotonics focused on: new materials and technological processes,
optoelectronic proprieties of the photonic
band structures, physics of semiconductor microcavities and microphotonic devices
for comunication, bio-sensing and enviromental monitoring applications

Tunable microphotonic structures based on
microcavities with applications in optical communications , financed by National
MATNANTECH Program, Project Cordinator ,(2002-2004 ).
Development of new photonic devices with
semiconductor microcavities for optical information proccesing and optical comunication,
financed by National R&D Program, Project Cordinator , (2000-2002).
Silicon-based micromechanical tunable
