Sorin Melinte
Dr. Sorin Melinte received his PhD Degree from Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium, in 2001. His postdoctoral work at Princeton University was supported by a NSF–NATO Fellowship Award. His early scientific interests focused on two-dimensional charge carrier systems at ultra low temperatures and in the presence of high magnetic fields. In 2002 he joined the Belgian F.R.S.-FNRS as a Research Associate and he currently investigates topics in nanotechnology at Université catholique de Louvain. His current projects aim at developing novel nanodevices and hybrid inorganic-organic platforms for molecular electronics. In particular, his group uses high-resolution electron-beam nanolithography as well as soft-lithography and bottom-up techniques to engineer smart nanomaterials.
