Prof. Mihai A. Gîrţu
Mihai A. Gîrţu is Professor of Physics at Ovidius University of Constanța, Romania. A graduate of the University of Bucharest with an M.Eng. degree in Applied Physics, he received the Ph.D. degree in Physics from the Ohio State University, USA. His research interests focus on the physics of materials with applications in hybrid photovoltaics and, more recently, in biomedical technologies. He is a member of ΦΚΦ and ΣΧ honor societies.
He has experience in designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating new policies, particularly in higher education and research, gained while serving as vice-president of the Romanian University Research Council and as a member of the Romanian Council for Higher Education Funding. Presently he serves as Vice-Rector of Ovidius University of Constanța, being responsible with research, innovation and entrepreneurship.
