Prof. Ion TIGINYANU
Ion Tiginyanu received his Ph.D. degree in Semiconductor Physics from Lebedev Institute of Physics, Moscow, in 1982. Starting from 2001, he serves as the founding Director of the National Center for Materials Study and Testing, Technical University of Moldova. In 2019 he was elected president of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. Professor Tiginyanu's research interests are related to nanotechnologies, smart nanomaterials and development of photonic and electronic novel device structures for various applications, including biomedical applications. He is member of the Academy of Europe, SPIE Fellow, senior member of Optica (formerly OSA), and member of AAAS, IEEE, MRS, and the Electrochemical Society.
