General data
Project duration: 03.08.2020- 02.08.2022
Project budget: 598.510 RON
Domain project: INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES, SPACE AND SECURITY
Objectives
To meet the FlexSiNoW project scope, new nanotechnology and nano-engineering approaches along with suitable nanomaterials with advanced functionalities will be explored on the way to demonstrate a novel photodetector concept device enabled by a hybrid nano-system assembly. Accordingly, the proposed solutions regard many aspects including the fabrication of GQDs with control-by-design functionalities obtained throughout surface engineering at the nanoscale, the experimental design and the implementation of new architectures for the devices of interest.
In this view, the project will advance new processes for obtaining hybrid heterostructures, and additionally, will propose new technologies for fabricating photodetectors and their integration in electronic circuits applied to flexible supports, such as plastic or fabric materials.
The specific objectives result from the proposed research plan and include:
SO1. Development of original engineered nano-systems that combine the unique properties of PVKT, GQDs and SiNWs for improved optoelectronic performance.
SO2. Development of high-responsivity multi-wavelength flexible photodetector and identification/solving of technical design challenges associated with the fabrication processes for optimizing photodetector architecture to provide high sensitivity and fast response.
SO3. Overcoming of trials by evidencing and understanding the physical mechanisms driving the photoconductive behavior of new nano-systems; investigation of how the architecture of the device modifies the charge transfer mechanisms and analysis of the interface phenomena related to physico-chemical and transport properties at the PVKT/GQDs/SiNWs triple heterostructure.
