Dr. Melania Popescu (MP), Project coordinator, Team leader, https://publons.com/researcher/J-5267-2016/; (H-index 3); Brainmap ID: U-1700-037Q-8564; 10 ISI papers. She finished her PhD with Summa cum laude in 2018 (order no. 4193 of 29.05.2019, issued by the Minister of National Education) with the thesis entitled: "Development of biochips for high-throughput detection and analysis of biomolecules". She developed new devices (sensors) for genotyping human papillomavirus (HPV) strains and for detection of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in BRCA1, KRAS. she established functionalization and DNA probe attachment protocols on various substrates (nanostructured silicon, gold films, silicon-on-insulator - SOI), evaluated by microarray, surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and electrical characterization (Ψ-MOSFET). Additional personal work involved the realisation of advanced textiles functionalized with metal oxides for the inhibition of bacterial growth, in the context of a collaboration between multiple laboratories in IMT-Bucharest, university and industry. Between 2016-2018, she was visiting researcher at IMEP-LaHC, for the development of an electrical biosensor, in the context of PN-III-P3-3.1-PM-RO-FR-2016 Brancusi-BIS-SOI project. In this project, she will lead WP1 - validation and optimization of the biosensor's functionality, T1.2 and T3.2. Moreover, she will coordinate the management and dissemination activities (WP4 – project management). During this project, she will be able to develop new skills that will help her to create new knowledge in post-doctoral studies.
