microfluidics prototyping service

Microfluidic Design Issues

  • Design Services;
  • Design Consultancy and Training;
  • Design Tools;
Design, virtual manufacturing and simulation support services for microfluidic structures are offered by INTEGRAMplus. Several types of analysis can be performed, according to the customer’s needs:
  • Continuous flow analysis (velocity, pressure, etc.);
  • Slug-flow analysis (fluid bubbles through channels);
  • Dead-volumes identification;
  • Fluids cross-contamination;
  • Other application-specific analysis;

The microfluidic structures to be simulated can be fabricated in two different technologies: standard silicon microfabrication techniques and polymer technologies. Additionally, these two technologies can be combined to develop silicon/polymer integrated microstructures.
The design and simulation services will in general be implemented in CoventorWare, using its special microfluidics modules.

Our Offer

You will receive simulations, virtual manufacturing and design optimisations for your own microfluidic structures, in order to answer specific questions about their design. We will deliver proposals on improving the design, in order to minimise undesirable effects (e.g. dead fluid volumes).

Supported Technology

The analysis types listed above have all been verified by using case studies based on INTEGRAMplus partner, Epigem’s technology. In general, the fluid chip design support is mainly based on silicon, polymer and  silicon/polymer technologies. Other manufacturing technologies can also be supported by the simulation services, but need to be discussed in advance.
