Objectives
The project has three important directions: i) to prepare and validate an innovative colloidal solution based on organic decontamination matrix which decontaminates RBC agents ii) to synthesis and surface functionalization of the several types of nanoparticles, compatible with the organic matrix, for upgrade the decontamination range and efficiency; iii) to design, manufacture an adaptive mobile system for mixing and deliver the colloidal decontamination mixture
The specific objectives of the project are:
Objective 1. Developed and optimized synthesis and surface functionalization processes for several types of nanoparticles (NPs) with high decontamination efficiency of chemical and biological agents: selection of the suitable nanoparticles to be introduced in RBC decontamination composition (silica NPs, AgNPs, CuONPs, nanooxides of transition metals , nanocrystalline zeolites, titanium dioxide based nanomaterial with photocatalytic activity) ; optimization of the technological flow for nanoparticles synthesis and their surface functionalization; physical and chemical characterization.
Objective 2. Integration of nanoparticles with the organic decontamination matrix and obtaining a colloidal solution with high efficiency in decontamination RBC - Nanodec RBC: development of integrated workflow for Nanodec RBC, functionalization and testing the compatibility of NPs with solution composition; testing the decontamination efficiency on simulants and further on real CWAs and BWAs; testing the chemical and biological decontamination time;
Objective 3. Design and realization an adaptive mobile system for mixing and dispersing the Nanodec RBC solution: design and realize the system components; the hardware and software for command and control the mixing process; testing functionality of the obtained system.
Objective 4. Testing and validating functionality of the adaptive mobile system for mixing and dispersing of the innovative colloidal solution, Nanodec RBC, used for chemical, biological and radiological decontamination.
The main estimated results are:
• Study on modern mobile systems for mixing and dispersing decontamination solution;
• Technological process for synthesis of functionalized nanoparticles with antimicrobial properties;
• Innovative technological process for the synthesis of hybrid nanomaterials with photocatalytic properties;
• Method of characterization by micro-Raman spectroscopy of the composition of the decontamination solution;
• Project for mobile mixing and dispersing system;
• 5 - communications presented at the national and international conferences ;
• 3 articles for publication in ISI journals
• 1 patent application;
• 1 workshop
