- "Microwave filters based on GaN/Si SAW resonators, operating at frequencies above 5GHz", 2015- 2017 Prime Contractor: National Institute for R&D in Microtechnologies- IMT Bucharest (www.imt.ro)
Technical objectives:
The major objective of this project (OM) consists in the design, manufacturing and characterization of a SAW on GaN based band pass filter, working at frequencies above 5 GHz. This will be the first SAW based filter structure manufactured on GaN operating in this frequency range.
O1 Technological development to obtain a high quality nano-lithographical process to manufacture complex structures composed from a relative high number of interconnected SAW resonators.
O2 Design and modeling of the GaN/Si based SAW structures and filters.
O3 Choice of the topology of the filter
O4 Manufacturing and on wafer characterization of the filter structure; the developing of an encapsulation technique
O5 Thermal stability analysis of the filters in the 10-400 K temperature range
