She held various positions in Microelectronica S.A. showcasing extensive experience in MOS integrated circuit manufacturing technology and leadership roles. At IMT-Bucharest where she is currently she has extensive experience with over 20 years  in the field of micro-nano-technologies for solar cells with improved efficiency through micromachining of the light incident surface; in micromachining of borosilicate glass for medical applications and sunlight concentration; in volume and surface micromachining of Silicon for MEMS applications; in the microconfiguration and integration of nanostructured TiO2 oxide layers in photodetector devices; development and optimization of new technological processes and their integration into new devices. She has published over 150 papers in journals and conference proceedings, 18 patents and She received R&D awards at the International Inventions Exhibition in Brussels, Geneva, Zagreb and Bucharest and a special award "Merite de l'invention, diploma and order of Knighthood" 2004, Brussels, Belgium

Florina Silvia Iliescu CS 1 (florina.iliescu@imt.ro) Dr in Medical Sciences

Florina Silvia Iliescu received her Medical Doctor (MD) and PhD in Medical Sciences degrees from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy Bucharest 1996 and 2015 respectively. While pursuing her PhD degree she worked in biomedical higher education and research in Singapore where she was involved in the design and fabrication of microneedles for transdermal drug delivery for clinical applications.

Between 2005 and 2020 she worked as Senior Lecturer at School of Applied Science, Republic Polytechnic Singapore and was involved in didactic and research projects related to diagnostic and drug delivery systems, diagnostic imaging, patient care, prophylactic medicine, anatomy, histopathology, and biomechanics. She was the PI for several grants under the Ministry of Education Singapore (with clinical collaborations) for transdermal drug delivery, biomechanics, medical diagnostic systems and the medical expert for projects that developed AI-based diagnostic systems in cardiology. As Head of Anatomy & Physiology and chair of several modules, she contributed to biomedically-oriented education, research and community projects (Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Brahm Centre, Yale-NUS). While CS I at IMT she is Research Fellow with eBio-hub Research Centre and Adjunct Professor with the School of Material Sciences,  National University for Science and Technology "Politehnica" of Bucharest. Her current research projects relate to nanotechnology-based diagnostic and drug delivery systems (transdermal drug delivery using microneedles arrays and nanomedicine).
